City-Level Digital Twin Inventory

Task: Develop a comprehensive digital twin of Goslar by integrating high-resolution point clouds with public datasets like OSM and Google Maps.

•Using Insta360 panoramic images, we generate dense semantic point clouds, align them with OpenStreetMap and Google Maps, and enhance public data with detailed building shapes and urban object recognition.

•Smart city planning, public domain data improvement, urban inventory, and scalable mapping solutions.

•Pixel-level object segmentationation

•Semantic point cloud, obtained from insta360

•Dense point cloud, obtained from insta360

•Alignment with Open Street Maps (left) and Google Maps (right)


Data Processing Pipeline:
•Merged dense point clouds with OSM and Google Maps for contextual and geometric accuracy.

•OpenStreetMap (OSM) add contextual information and detailed map of the world. For the particular location OSM provides very schematic building shapes and locations so our cloud-point could also be used to improve the public domain data
