Details:

The client is one of the largest Canadian bank, which needed a solution for quickly and efficiently creating BIM models of the 20 branches for subsequent renovation and modernization planning.

Problem Statement:

The client faced significant challenges in creating accurate Building Information Models (BIM) for existing facilities:

1. Traditional BIM creation required extensive on-site measurements and scanning, which required branch closures and lost revenue.

2. Manual BIM generation was expensive, averaging $10–$30k per branch.

3. Due to limited resources, the client could not scale operations to the required 500 branches.

Data Collection:
1) Video footage captured using iPhone or iPad, ensuring coverage of all details

2) Point cloud captured using iPhone or iPad, ensuring coverage of all details

3) Pre-processing steps included video stabilization and resolution enhancement for optimal AI performance
Combining:

1) Automatically align parts and add to master point cloud

2) Sizes with 2-3 cm accuracy are obtained from the point cloud

3) Rich semantic data is obtained from 4K 60 fps video

4) We obtain a dense point cloud

Export:
1) Algorithm recognizes objects in a dense point cloud

2) Each cube is defined as a separate Revit family object. For training purposes, we were provided with about 50 GB of Revit family objects.

3) Exporting objects as Revit model families
Summary:
